HERFF JONES, Forklift Operator / Material Handler (Seasonal)

Location: 2525 Midpoint Dr, Edwardsville, KS 66111

Hours:

1ST 6AM-2PM, M-F $18.55 per hour
2ND 2PM-10PM, M-F $18.55 per hour + $.75 Shift Differential

YOUR OPPORTUNTY:

As a member of the Herff Jones Kansas City Yearbook team, the General Laborer will be responsible for assisting in basic press and bindery operations to help maintain quality at minimum spoilage.

WHAT YOU'LL DO ON A DAILY BASIS:

Move materials from one place to another using the forklift and hand jack.
Load, unload, move and pack materials
Inspect materials to be moved for quality and accuracy
Ensure the materials are safely moved to designated areas.
Count quantity of materials for each job.
Clean and organize workspace.
Make room in warehouse for more jobs to be put away.
Help with shelving and labeling jobs
Observe and comply with quality, environmental, health and safety procedure
Move materials from one place to another using the forklift and hand jack.
Load, unload, move and pack materials
Inspect materials to be moved for quality and accuracy.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

High school Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
1-3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse environment
Warehouseman Training preferred
Must have experience and ability to operate forklift and hand jack.
Must be ab le to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Meet all Company and Federal (OSHA) requirements for forklift operator certification for double reach and stand-up reach forklift trucks
Strong communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Work independently with minimum supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to and/or frequently exposed to:

Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Talk and hear
Occasionally required to climb or balance
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
