Overview
As the Senior Accountant and Payroll Specialist, you will play an integral role in providing accounting support throughout the organization.
Bring your problem-solving experience to the table as you collaborate with the fiscal team to ensure accounting records are accurate and track activity consistent with the budget goals.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare balance sheet account reconciliations, monthly journal entries and adjustments to support monthly financial statement preparation.
Assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to GAAP.Prepare monthly journal entries and adjustments with accuracy, completeness, and conformance to GAAP to support timely month end close.
Specialize in payroll journal entries, process and procedure optimization.Learn and improve upon monthly schedules for all revenue, expense, insurance, and investment account reconciliations.
Maintain a full, in-depth knowledge of all revenue streams including government and other grants and donations with the ability to provide analysis for all.
Prepare accounting schedules and gather information needed by auditors for the preparation of annual audit and information filings.Identify, research and analyze account activities and variances.
Serve as back-up for accounting functions currently performed by other staff including cash receipts processing, review of weekly accounts payable processing.
Work collaboratively to support organization-wide and finance department process changes, internal projects, and workgroups.Assist with the creation of adhoc finance projects, as assignedMaintain additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of advanced accounting experienceProficient with full-cycle Payroll processesProficient understanding of GAAPAdvanced understanding of financial reportingProficient with MS Office Suite with advanced MS ExcelExperience with Sage Intacct, Primarius, WizeHive preferredPrior non-profit accounting experience preferredBilingual or Multilingual preferred
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (8:00AM - 5:00PM) + Hybrid OpportunityCompensation:
$81,000 - $93,000 Annually + Full Benefits PackageThis is a permanent, career opportunity - Company provides competitive salary and full benefits package
