- Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to Atlas' safety policies and procedures along with plant specific safety rules. Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety and housekeeping. Know and communicate the safety message with focusing on developing a zero-injury culture.
- Coordinate with Sales to assure on time delivery.
- Oversee completion of all bills of ladings and other shipping documents through PeopleSoft.
- Supervise all shipping personnel and dedicated truck drivers, if applicable, to maintain the most effective methods of shipment of finished goods and the receipt and storage of raw materials.
- Overseeing the maintenance of the leased forklift fleet.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service/carrier logs, and/or training records for the department.
- Assist in monthly physical inventory of finished products and raw materials and reconcile warehouse inventory variances.
- Work closely with the Account Executives and other managers, to assure the highest degree of Customer Satisfaction, Quality and Efficiencies.
- Compile information and prepare various reports and records.
- Schedules and assigns all shipments of finished goods in the most economical method while ensuring the plant and customer requirements are met.
- Maintains close contact and professional business relationships with carrier personnel.
- Oversees the overall housekeeping and finished goods inventory security.
- Oversees the development, discipline and safety of the shipping and traffic employees.
- Supervise, plan, direct and schedule the personnel and operations of the shipping/receiving department.
- Responsible for the rotation and tracking of inventory.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field from a 4-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment, preferably in logistics.
- Previous supervisory experience is desired.
- Experience with Peoplesoft software is desired.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English, includes, ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to bring about consensus in areas of conflict.
- Knowledge of materials and inventory control practices.
- Manufacturing/Warehouse environment: extreme cold and heat; wet and/or humid conditions; and exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours throughout the day.
- Must be able to occasionally push, pull, grip, reach, feel, squat, and bend.
- Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)

SHIPPING SUPERVISOR ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including travel and other duties as assigned)-
· Direct and lead in creating, maintaining, and enforcing Shipping and Receiving policies and procedures.
· Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics, and customer.
· Negotiate transportation rates and services.
