    Job Description

    The Clinical Research Associate I collaborates directly with a Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, or Research Nurse to organize and execute research studies. Evaluates and extracts research data, ensuring adherence to protocol and research goals. Duties include completing case report forms, inputting clinical research data, and aiding in regulatory submissions to the IRB. Provides minimal patient interaction as necessary for research and contributes to study budgeting and patient research billing. Ensures compliance with federal, local, FDA, IRB, and HIPAA guidelines relevant to the research and patient care.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Works closely with a Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, or Research Nurse to plan and execute studies.
    • Evaluates and extracts clinical research data from source documents.
    • Ensures compliance with study protocol and overarching clinical research objectives.
    • Completes Case Report Forms (CRFs).
    • Inputs clinical research data into Electronic Data Systems (EDCs) provided by sponsors.
    • Engages in supervised patient contact or patient contact for long-term follow-up.
    • Aids in regulatory submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) such as Adverse Events, Serious Adverse Events, and Safety Letters following local and federal guidelines.
    • Assists in managing clinical trial budgets.
    • Aids in patient research billing procedures.
    • Schedules research visits and procedures for patients.
    • Responsible for preparing and shipping samples, and maintaining study supplies and kits.
    • Adheres to all federal and local agency regulations, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board.
    • Adheres to research practices following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
    • Ensures strict patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations and valid laws.
    • Participates in mandatory training and educational programs.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • High School Diploma/GED (Minimum)
    • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Sociology, or related field (Preferred)

    Work Experience:

    • 1 year of Clinical Research Related Experience (Preferred)
