Job summary
The Nursing Supervisor (part-time, nights) coordinates the supervision of patient care/nursing personnel management to provide sufficient/competent nursing staff and optimal/quality patient care and nursing practice. Assists members of the nursing staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and coordinates patient admission bed placement and transfer.Responsibilities
Scheduling & Staffing: Assesses/plans for adequate staffing assignment utilization of nursing personnel based on budgeted hours staff availability competency and patient acuity Reviews changes in patient classification documents staffing adjustments for adequate coverage Leadership: Assists unit coordinators/charge nurses with any unfamiliar or new nursing procedures treatments equipment as needed/requested Collaborates with others regarding admitting discharging transferring patients as needed requested for bed placement emergent/non-emergent situations Emergency Response Responds to all emergency codes reports documents any needs/problems related to staff readiness response competency Investigates assists personnel with security incidents missing/damaged personal belongings Reports Security Administrator on-call Director Risk Management as needed Investigating variances/complaints assists staff in management/documentation Participants in planning implementing goals action plans related to patentcare nursinpractice Clinical Nursing specialties subspecialties Participates in rounding Conducts nursingerounds all nursinguunits Supplies Equipment Dispenses supplies/equipment from emergency stock other departments to nursinguunits asneeded Meetings Continuing Education Participates minimum monthly department manager required nurisingleadership meetings Attends/participate continuing education programs mandatory programs annual attendance Reporting pertinent clinical management information through meetings committees readings educational activities colleagues other staf indicated Reports pertinentpatientdepartmental hospitalinformation Director(s)/CNO voicemail email oral at shift change Professionalism Upholds professional working relationship times Practices teamwork Other Duties Performs duties assigned bymanagement About Advocate Health Advocate Health third-largest nonprofit integrated health system United States created combination Advocate Aurora Health AtriumHealth Providing under namesAdvocate Care IllinoisAurora Carolinas Georgia Alabama WisconsinHeadquartered Charlotte North Carolina services nearly millionpatients engaged hundreds clinical trials research studies Wake Forest University School Medicine serving academic core enterprise nationally recognized cardiology neurosciences oncology pediatrics rehabilitation organ transplants burn treatments specialized musculoskeletal programs employs teammates across hospitals over locations graduate medical education program residents fellows over programs Committed providing equitable Advocateteam provides billionannual community benefits.Job description
