Provide primary administration duties of the help desk system.
Ensure accurate inventory of local computer workstations.
Primary point of contact for training and questions on the help desk system.
Help administer any help desk or administrative apps as needed.
Provide guidance to help desk team as needed.
Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff i.e.
PC Support Technician, Programmer Analyst, Network Engineer, Telecom Engineer, etc.Log and track calls using problem management database and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
Prepare standard statistical reports, such as help desk incident reports.
Analyze and evaluate incident reports and makes recommendations to reduce help line incident rate.
Consult with programmers to explain software errors.
Call software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products.
Test software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work.
Write software and hardware evaluation and recommendation for management review.
Write or revise user training manuals and procedures.
Required - High school diploma or equivalent experience and/or training.
Expert computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and manage multiple demands while staying within established timelines.
Ability to work outside of normal working hours to provide support based on assignments and projects.
Ability to work on call rotation.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
