    Job DescriptionThis position will be responsible for leading all aspects of the ESH program at Teijin Carbon America, Inc.

    The Environmental, Safety, and Health Manager is responsible for developing ESH systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate ESH policies.

    This position is a key member of the TCA leadership team will report to the Plant Manager.

    ResponsibilitiesRecognize, evaluate, and make recommendations for the control of potential workplace hazards in the areas of industrial hygiene and industrial safetyWork in a team environment and lead members of production, maintenance, engineering, purchasing and logistics departments to be engaged and accountable for the ESH performance of allInvestigate employee Safety and Health concerns and ideas for improvement, communicate findings and recommend possible solutions in a timely mannerManage environmental program (hazardous waste program, storm water program, wastewater monitoring, air quality reporting, acting as a liaison with local regulatory agencies, ensuring submission of applicable monthly, periodic and annual environmental reports)Classify injury/illness events utilizing OSHA protocols for record keeping, and analyze loss experience for corrective actionResponsible for Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) policies, including; ensuring ESH policies and procedures are current, distributed appropriately, and document control is maintainedWhen necessary, provide applicable ESH training to new hires and other ESH training for specific programs to employees such as forklift certification, spill response, etc.

    Drive incident investigation process, and help to identify root causes of incidents for prevention of similar events in the futureIn coordination with Compliance Manager, help organization to maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.

    Maintain all EPCRA reporting (Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act) Work with Teijin Group CSR, Environmental Solutions Division, Carbon Fiber Business Unit, and other Sustainability Teams as required.

    Help facilitate TCA's internal recycling program and reporting.
    Other duties as required.

    QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field5+ years of environmental, safety and health experience, prefer chemical or fiber manufacturing facilityExtensive knowledge and applicable experience regarding Environmental Protection Agency regulationsSound knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations required including Title V and Wastewater discharge permitsKnowledge of Workers' Compensation, FMLA and HIPAA regulations an assetISO 14001 and ISO 45001 experience preferredExperience with behavioral based safety systemsExcellent analytical and problem solving skills Proficiency in utilization MS Office software including MS Word, Excel, and AccessExperience working with an international, culturally diverse team is preferredExcellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilitiesAbility to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.

    ASP or CSP Certification(s) PreferredAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
