    Description

    The Clinical Manager is responsible for operations of the department including supervising activities in the department clinical area as well as coordinating nursing services with those of the medical and administrative staff.

    The Manager participates as part of the center's management team in planning, policy formulation and departmental decision making, primarily with the functions and operations of the department nursing services.

    The Manager is responsible for the quality of patient care, resource and fiscal management in the department setting.​

    Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising department clinical services and patient activities
    ​Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice in the department.
    ​Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern employee practice in the clinical setting and other services under her/his control
    ​Ensures compliance with regulations of governing bodies, accreditation organizations, Federal and state regulations by continually monitoring the facilities service delivery and initialing changes as necessary
    ​Provides leadership and guidance with other leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management, and outcome achievement
    ​Assesses the quality of care rendered by the staff
    ​Responsible for the credentialing of nursing and technical staff
    ​Responsible for recruiting, hiring, staff retention, performance evaluation and staff development in the clinical setting
    ​Ensures the proper function of equipment and quantity of supplies
    ​Fosters a smooth functioning, efficient organization through timely and effective resolution of disputes
    ​Supports and participates in Quality Assurance activities
    ​Abides by and supports established center policies and procedures
    ​Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors, medical staff members and center employees
    ​Plans and recommends equipment needs and or modifications to center as related to the department​
    Graduate of an accredited nursing school
    ~​Bachelor's degree preferred
    ~​Understanding of the principles of sterile technique and operating room and endoscopy practice
    ~​Principles of management​
    ~A minimum of 2 years' experience with clinical supervision in a surgical and endoscopy setting​
