**Responsibilities**
Transport people from site while maintaining the assigned schedule.
+ Operate vehicle in a safe manner.
+ Inform supervisor of any unusual situations or accidents immediately.
+ Assist riders entering and exiting the vehicle.
+ Comply with all traffic safety rules and regulations.
+ Assist the department supervisor with the daily activities of the Transportation department.
+ Inspect and maintain vehicle daily for cleaning and safety issues.
+ Maintain accurate logs per required standards.
+ Follow established schedules, adjust schedules to meet unanticipated changes, and determine safest and most efficient pickup and delivery routes.
+ Drive specially equipped van to deliver physically limited persons to various destinations; assure that wheelchair lifts and tie down equipment are properly operated and that riders are delivered to appointments in a timely manner.
**Requirements**
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
+ One or more of the following required:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ Heart Saver AED obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ Chauffeur preferred.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
+ Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
