    The Ahern Family of Companies is seeking an IT Systems

    Administrator/Engineer

    to join our team

    Summary of Functions:
    This is primarily a Microsoft systems

    administration/engineering

    position. The ideal candidate should have supplemental experience with diverse systems in a fast-paced enterprise environment (i.e. EMC SAN, IBM Blade Center, Tivoli Storage Manager, Cisco Networks, and Cisco VoIP). This is an exempt level position.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    May or may not include:
    Perform E-Mail (Exchange) server administration and troubleshooting
    Responsible for Active Directory administration
    Responsible for Group Policy administration
    Responsible for email "spam" filter administration
    Responsible for virtual system environments
    Responsible for anti-virus deployment and maintenance

    Qualifications:
    The ideal candidate will have basic to comprehensive understanding in:
    Exchange 2007
    Windows Server 2003/2008
    Terminal Services 2008 and Session Broker
    Blackberry Enterprise Services
    VMWare vSphere (vMotion, DRS, HA)
    EMC Clariion
    IBM BladeCenter
    Active Directory, DHCP, DNS
    GPO Management
    Websense 7 (ISA & ASA)
    QLogic/McData Fibre Switch
    Solarwinds Orion NPM&APM
    Computer imaging w/ Ghost & Altiris
    SQL Management
    Microsoft WSUS
    Symantec Endpoint Protection Suite
    Microsoft Sharepoint
    Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007
    Perform hardware (system) imaging
    Deploy and manage thin-client technology throughout 72 locations across the country
    SAN administration
    Must be able to read, write, and speak English
    Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis

    Physical Demands:
    May be required to communicate with management and other co-workers. Physical requirements for regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
    Sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, and talking for extended periods is common.
    Exertion (lift/push/pull) of up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. If physical exertion requires greater than 75 lbs of force, assistance will be provided. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment and rental equipment.

    Work Environment:


    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly works in a clean and well lit area with inside environmental conditions.

    However, at times, the employee must visit our branch locations where conditions are quite different.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but trips to the datacenter may require working in cold and noisy environments (we provide hearing protection).

    There will be a moderate to heavy amount of incoming calls and walk through traffic that as a result, will present interruptions in daily tasks throughout the day.

    The systems engineer will experience an extended period of time remaining seated due to the nature of the position.
