    Job Description: Senior Structural Engineer at Sargent & Lundy

    Join us to apply for the Structural Engineer - Senior-Level role at Sargent & Lundy.

    This position offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design within a dynamic engineering team. You will work on projects across industrial, power, oil, and gas facilities, handling responsibilities such as creating calculations, designing documents, and specifications, as well as conducting structural analyses under various loading conditions including wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization.

    You will also guide junior engineers and designers, coordinate detailed design phases, troubleshoot structural issues, develop integrated designs, prepare technical specifications, and review work performed by others. The role involves collaboration with project teams, clients, and vendors, and may include site visits for design reviews and construction coordination.

    This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days a week.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) from an ABET-accredited program.
    • Six+ years of experience in designing industrial, power, oil, and gas facilities, focusing on steel structures and concrete supports.
    • Experience supporting structural engineering calculations and documentation.
    • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
    • Knowledge of design standards including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
    • PE license is required.
