    SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

    • This position requires an ambitious, strategic thinker responsible for developing, managing, and driving the Service Orders properly, either performing large/complex orders and/or managing the engineering team to perform their expected jobs into the budget (quality, time and cost).
    • Manages operations in engineering Service NA to include but not limited to day to day operations, support sales, purchase, quality control, project management, field service and management of mechanical, electrical e hydraulic engineering team.
    • Workload Manage the jobs distribution of the engineering team reporting direct hours developing & keeping updated the workload avoiding under-absorption.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Will be directly (or with his team) responsible to oversees all the engineering service activities (technical and administrative).
    • Responsible to manage the Schuler engineering team.
    • The engineering team includes engineers and technician from CAD engineering, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, 24/7 remote support, software development and commissioning at customer facility.
    • Manage the day-to-day operation in engineering. Manage and assign workload among the team member assuring to have a proper work (as per skill matrix) in order to reach the targets of every project, avoiding under absorption.
    • Directly and/or indirectly review and approve designs, simulation results and cost estimations.
    • Support the sales team with cost estimations, customer visits and presentations when required.
    • Take the ownership at least on the engineering portion and support the project managers to complete all jobs with quality, in time and budget.
    • Responsible to plan properly the jobs to assure the jobs will go smoothly but in case they are not moving as expected/planned, take the necessary actions to solve any engineering or quality concerns from our customers.
    • Define engineering KPIs (goals), develop strategies and use these KPIs to manage the engineering team properly. For the KPIs that are deviating make sure that a proper action plan is developed and implemented proper till everything goes back to normal (as planned).
    • Together with the team of digitalization, create visions for new technology and development in service.
    • Have the strategic overview of the direct hours/capacity availability for the necessary actions avoiding under absorption and/or strategic outsourcing decisions in case of over loading.
    • Develop and keep operating local suppliers/partners to be used on overload situation and/or on specific technologies that might be needed for the NA service business.
    • Create a network with the affiliates to be able to get the benefits from the Schuler organization worldwide.
    • Directs and drives the business by using KPIs management and having a weekly agenda with the teams from the shared service areas to analyze and deliver customer requirements.
    • Oversees the analysis of critical issues from engineering team, as well as the development and implementation of resolutions for optimal project results.
    • Develop and maintain engineering processes and ensuring the entire teamwork with the same processes.
    • Participate (or designate an engineering representative) supporting project managers on the Bi-Weekly project review meetings to assure the projects/orders are running properly.
    • Ensure close communication with the project managers and field service coordinator to ensure maximization of field service utilization.
    • Support the project manages and/or site leaders (managers) to ensure that any punch list item is managed and closed in a timely manner.
    • At the conclusion of each project conduct a WWR/WWW, capture the learning, give the feedback to the team and amend processes as required.
    • Needs to hold commitments and lead by example.
    • Support and be responsible for the engineering portion for all the tasks/activities as per SIC Planning (order fulfillment) relate to the jobs time schedule and workload management/update.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technical Related Degree and Prefer Masters degree
    • Minimum 8 years of experience within press service industry including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory level.
    • Project Management Certification (PMP) desirable
    • Experience in engineering
    • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing people workload
    • Knowledge of the Stamping Industry and Schuler products and services
    • General understanding of technical documentation, drawings, schematics, BOMs, etc.
    • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing budgets, financial statements and understanding P&Ls
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
    • Familiar with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
    • Ability to travel, nationally and abroad. Must be able and willing to travel.
    • Able to facilitate discussions and give presentations with highly technical content. Presents clearly and informatively.

    • Visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
