Job Summary
Traffic Officers are sworn-in police, focusing on maintaining traffic safety and efficiency of the roads. Duties include but are not limited to directing traffic, managing accidents, and educating the public on laws and safety guidelines. They may assume the responsibility of the crossing guard if one is not present. Traffic officers may also control crowds during emergencies to make sure fire and rescue workers can get to the scene safely. May perform other duties as required.
Inside Officers are sworn-in police, focusing on maintaining safety inside the venues. Performs security and safety duties for the Bojangles' Entertainment Complex and/or Charlotte Convention Center. Responsible security/safety position involving the protection of life and property. Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with event management, clients and attendees of events. Responsible for controlling and monitoring vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Convention Center roadways, freight docks, service roads and temporary staging areas. Performs other related duties as required.
Fire Marshals' duties include but are not limited to fire code enforcement or investigating fires for origin and cause. Fire Marshals may be sworn law-enforcement officers and are often experienced firefighters. The Fire Marshal is responsible for enforcing laws concerning flammable materials.
The Fire Marshal has responsibilities to make sure the working environment is safe in case of a fire. They must check that fire doors and fire exits are closed, clear, unlocked and ready for use. All escape routes are safe, unblocked and clear. May perform other duties as required.
