    Senior Administrative Assistant

    The mission of Anoka County is to serve its citizens in a respectful, innovative, and fiscally responsible manner.

    The Human Services division has an immediate opening for a Senior Administrative Assistant. This role provides centralized support for the department's operational and administrative functions, including office management, record keeping, purchasing, financial activities, clerical support, and coordination of special projects. Working independently, the Senior Administrative Assistant applies in-depth knowledge to manage complex tasks.

    This is a full-time, non-exempt, hybrid position. Interviews will take place the week of February 16th, 2026, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

    Pay and benefits include a salary range of $57,262.40 to $67,288 ($27.53 to $32.35 per hour), 24 days of paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays, comprehensive insurance, a medical and dental clinic exclusive to employees, pension plan and other retirement investment options, and advancement/professional development opportunities.

    The work location is at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. Expected work hours are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

    Job duties and responsibilities include providing complex administrative support for the department, coordinating office management and operations activities, preparing and editing documents, maintaining division policy and communications, entering data into systems, monitoring division communication, translating concerns and requests into responses, providing leadership and mentoring, and taking meeting minutes or notes.

    Qualifications and requirements include a high school diploma and at least four years of job-related experience, successfully passing a criminal history background check, strong organizational skills, solid understanding of general office procedures, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, working knowledge of GovQA, proficiency in Visio, experience with Workday, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Physical demands and work conditions include a standard office environment, vision and hearing abilities, sedentary assignments with occasional movement, occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs, and occasional travel to other county work sites.

    The selection process requires applications to show relevant education and experience, and may include pre-employment criminal/driving background check, drug screen, DOT physical, and other qualifications checks.
