Water/Wastewater/Water Resources Project ManagerWe have a career opportunity for an experienced professional engineer who has previous experience with water/wastewater and/or water resources engineering. The ideal candidate will have both the technical background and leadership experience or potential to successfully manage a broad range of water resources projects.
The successful candidate will self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of water-related infrastructure projects, as well as play an important role in managing client relationships. The position includes involvement in strategic initiatives that will continue to drive the growth of the water/wastewater group, not only in Pennsylvania but nationwide.
LocationThis position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from either of our PA locations, including Pottsville, PA or Wilkes- Barre, PA. This position requires onsite meetings, and when expected, must be present at those meetings in Wilkes-Barre, PA; otherwise, this position has the opportunity for a flexible hybrid work schedule with travel as necessary for client needs.
Key Projects Leading the Way in Pennsylvania
Our Pennsylvania Division is proud to lead high-impact projects that demonstrate the depth and diversity of our expertise:
- SR 61, Section 41M, Highway Reconstruction, SCMA Water Main & Communication Line Relocation - Delivering design solutions as part of a multi-disciplined utility coordination and relocation project for over 2 miles of waterlines as part of prior work to the highway relocation project.
- Bath Borough Authority - Water Distribution System Mapping and Hydraulic Modeling - Collecting GIS data for over 18 miles of the water distribution system, modeling to determine system needs, and providing a table based GIS system for clients use in field operations.
- Shenandoah Municipal Sewer Authority - Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades -Engineering design for an upgrade to an existing 2.0 MGD wastewater treatment plant. Benesch has been involved in the project from planning through design and pending construction or the project valued at over $20 million. Design included headworks, primary and final clarification, aeration and disinfection.
- Hazleton City Authority - Lehigh River Pump Station - Evaluating a 5 MGD pump station for a permanent cleaning system to address pump intakes as soil and debris accumulation.
- Ashland Area Municipal Authority - Various Projects - Serving as municipal representative for a long-standing client, where projects such as water system upgrades, dam inspections, treatment plant enhancements, permitting and operations are completed as part of an annual retainer. Benesch represents a number of Authorities and Municipalities in this capacity throughout the state.
- Managing the responsibilities for projects and employees
- Control and review of scope, schedule, and budget; executing project work plans from start to finish
- Resources available or ability to request resources to effectively complete successful projects
- Ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project management
- Coordinate with the Group Manager on project needs, company growth, and personal career development
- Ownership of the financial aspects of the projects assigned
- Marketing outreach ability including client contacts with existing and potential clients
- Opportunity for business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project
- Growth in career and project management experience
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience with water resources, drinking water, and/or wastewater
- LicensedPEin Pennsylvania
- Existing client relationships in Pennsylvania desired
- Excellent communication and client relation skills
- Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
