    Compensation: Estimated $65,000 to $70,000 annually based on experience (plus overtime pay). The company also offers bonuses and COLA adjustments.

    Location: In-office (5 days a week) in Novato, CA office. You may qualify for a hybrid schedule after the roughly one-year training period (or less based on your ability to work independently).

    Job Type: Full-time W-2 position. Non-exempt with benefits.

    Audit Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

    • Conducting portions of a simple audit engagement
    • Take client data and organize it, planning for audit
    • Enter trial balance data into audit software for clients
    • Send clients participation lists, tailored to their organizations
    • Review files for other auditors, using a provided checklist
    • Prepare nonprofit tax returns

    Audit Staff Accountant Requirements:

    • 0-2 years of professional experience in audit public accounting (recent graduates welcome to apply)
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related is required (must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam)
    • A CPA or a candidate eligible to sit for the CPA exam is required
    • Prior audit experience with government and/or non-profit entities is a plus
    • Good understanding of audit accounting practices, GAAP guidelines, and Sarbanes-Oxley rules
    • Computer savvy with experience in Adobe Professional (PDF) and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
    • Proficiency in CCH Engagement accounting software (or similar) or Citrix share file is a plus
    • Strong work ethic with analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Willingness to travel within Northern California for on-site audits (up to 10%-15%)
