Description
Job Description and Duties
This position is posted on a 12 month limited term basis with the possibility of being extended up to 24 months or becoming permanent.
Under direct supervision of the Correctional Case Records Manager (CCRM), performs difficult work in the processing, maintenance and control of inmate/parolee records.
Directly supervise Correctional Case Records Analyst (CCRA), Supervising Case Records Technician (SCRT) and in the absence of the SCRT, Case Records Technicians (CRT).
Incumbents perform more difficult legal and policy interpretations related to processing, maintenance, and control of inmate or parolee records; supervise work of subordinate Correctional Case Records Analysts and supervising clerical staff; provide training to local staff on inmate and parolee record-related matters; acts as liaison with departmental units and County, State, and Federal agencies and with courts on more complex matters; may have responsibility for a specialized records function, or assist a higher level administrator who directs a variety of complex records units.
Working Conditions
California Correctional Institution is located in the Tehachapi Mountains approximately 325 miles south of Sacramento and approximately 120 miles north of Los Angeles.
CCI is a Multi-level, Sensitive Needs Yard, facility consisting of four (4) facilities, encompassed within a campus style layout with varied terrain.
