Verdesian Life Sciences is seeking to hire an experienced

Global Trade & Logistics Director

for the Corporate office in Cary, NC, to support a growing business that is rapidly expanding its distribution channel globally.

Manager :

Lead a team of Logistics Coordinators to manage the distribution of domestic and international orders as needed by customer and/or required by Verdesian
Compliance with International Trade Regulations :

responsible for maintaining compliance with international trade regulations. This includes understanding and adhering to customs requirements, import/export laws, and other relevant regulations
Freight Rate Contract Management :

work with carriers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to secure favorable rates and reliable service
Customs Broker Management :

manage existing partnerships and work with relevant sales & operations teams to identify opportunities where new broker partnerships need to be created
Transportation Network Optimization :

oversee transportation networks while striving to improve service to customers while reducing logistics costs
Documentation and Freight Forwarding :

ensure accurate processing of shipments, including documentation, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and delivery

Ensure Freedom to Operate:

Coordinate with Regulatory, EH&S, Plant Operations, Customer Service and Planning teams to ensure appropriate regulatory approvals have been attained, correct product labeling and product identification requirements are defined for all shipments

Distribution Network:

optimize our distribution network by identifying the most efficient transportation modes and carriers, negotiating contracts and optimizing routes including the identification of relevant distribution centers

KPI & Analytics:

Define and report monthly KPIs to minimize compliance risks, optimize logistical spend and drive overall team performance
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Criteria:
Proficiency in Excel, statistical applications and logistics programs and working knowledge of MS Dynamics or equivalent ERP systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, TMS, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
Strong attention to detail
Great interpersonal skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Minimum experience working with international exports. Strong understanding of DOT, IATA, and Maritime shipping requirements.
Certification in these areas is ideal. Experience in data analysis. Relevant certifications like APICS, PMP, CPIM, PMI, ISA, C-TPAT, CSCP, SPHR, 9000, or ISO are a plus.
