    Job Description:
    The Clinical Therapist is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing, and other disciplines to provide holistic or comprehensive medical and counseling services to patients. They interview patients and give diagnostic tests. Additionally, the Clinical Therapist provides individual, family or group psychotherapy, and collaborates with the behavioral health team to develop and implement behavior modification programs, with treatment and intervention programs that patients can understand and comply with.

    Scope
    • We are looking for a therapist to help develop, implement, and run our new mental health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Intermountain Behavioral Health on the Cottonwood Campus. This program started in July 2023 and has already had great success
    • The IOP program offers a multidisciplinary, structured services at a greater frequency and intensity than routine outpatient treatment. Common treatment modalities include individual, family, and group psychotherapy and medication management
    • This role will work in the Cottonwood Psychiatry and Counseling Department, which is located at the TOSH campus. Shifts for this position are Monday-Friday during regular office hours from 9am-5pm, with some flexibility to set hours around program needs.
    • Schedule will be M-F with the provider having flexibility to set working hours.
    • Looking for a candidate with experience in brief therapy, solution focused therapy, DBT training, CBT training, trauma informed care, and/or group counseling.
    Job Essentials
    • Assesses the patient's medical history, mental health history, and current presentation to understand the patient's needs from treatment.
    • Diagnoses and treats various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
    • Develops a plan of care either individually or with input from the patient, patient family/significant others, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
    • Provides treatment based on patient need and evidenced based interventions.
    • Refers patients to other services to improve their well-being. These referrals may include community services, treatment programs, support groups, and/or psychiatrists (or other mental health providers).
    • Properly documents pertinent information in regard to the patient's plan of care.
    • Works with the multi-disciplinary team to develop a discharge plan in order to provide further care, services, and referrals in order to ensure continuity of care.
    • Provides psychological testing as indicated by the patient condition.
    • Complies with federal, state, local and clinical program/facility standards.
    • Provides care and treatment within the scope of the Mental Health Practice Act.
    Will also consider LCSW or CMHC licensure.

    Salary will be based on licensure and experience.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree or higher in Social Work or related field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
    • Current Utah State Licensure as LCSW, CMHC or Psychologist.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Extensive knowledge of developing and implementing IOP services.
    • Understanding and use different treatment modalities with strong skill set in CBT, DBT, Treatment Planning, psychoeducation, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.

    • Ongoing need for employee to see and assess various nonverbal cues used in patient diagnosis/assessment in order to understand and develop treatment options.
    • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, as well as hear and respond quickly to emergent needs or issues that may arise with patients.
