- Manages daily bike shop operations with a focus on program delivery

- Ensure CBPO's cornerstone programming–DIY repair shop, Earn-A-Bike, and Bicycle recycling–are offered to those who need and want to engage with them, continuing to look for methods that will increase our inclusivity and belonging;
- Maintain a safe, respectable, inclusive environment aligned with CBPO's values inside CBPOS's bike shop and anywhere CBPO conducts programming;
- Organize and stock the bike shop appropriately to conduct programming: this includes refurbishing bikes, organizing tools and parts, purchasing tools and parts as necessary, as well as basic grounds maintenance, minor repairs to the building, stocking bathroom supplies,
- Rebuilding bicycles and similar machines for direct donation to participants or for resale to customers;
- Serve as lead mechanic during all DIY repair shop hours, unless otherwise explicitly determined;
- Open and close CBPO's bike shop and serving as primary manager-on-duty no less than one (1) and no more than five (5) days a week, according to a schedule that is mutually agreed upon with the other CBPO staff;
- Coordinate, co-coordinate, and/or execute other CBPO programs in collaboration with staff, board of directors, and/or volunteers;
- Mentor program participants and volunteers, including direct education in bicycle repair, safety, and maintenance;
- Manage volunteer staff, including maintaining a project list for volunteers, assigning volunteers tasks during their shifts, and ensuring that volunteers are following policies and procedures while at bike shop;
- Ensure participant data collection is occuring for every program, this includes volunteers logging hours at the end of their shifts;
- Participate in the tracking and reporting of participant numbers and outcomes, revenue and expenses, and the like;
- Generate or co-create curriculum, lesson plans, and materials for programming (e.g. Earn-A-Bike, DIY Shop, Tune Up Clinics, etc.)
- Other tasks as assigned and/or mutually agreed upon

Description
The bike shop manager (bikes & programs) serves as the lead supervisor for the company's primary venue, the lead supervisor and executor of the company's programming, and the head mechanic of Community Bike Project Omaha ("CBPO" or the "company"). This position has overall responsibility for the care, upkeep, and maintenance of the company's brick-and-mortar shop and the supplies, equipment, and inventory contained therein, as well as the execution of CBPO core programming and general interactions with clients, customers, and volunteers. The bike shop manager (bikes & programs) strives to ensure the stewardship of company resources and assets, uphold company values while engaging with other staff, volunteers, and the public. This position works collaboratively with the administrative director and members of the Board of Directors to shape programs and activities, and frequently serves as a program leader. They are hired by and report to the administrative director.
This position:
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
Estimated Weekly Schedule:
Tuesday: 11:00am - 5:00pm (program planning + bike refurbishing only; shop closed)
Wednesday: 1:45pm - 6:15pm
Thursday: 1:45pm - 6:15pm
Friday: 1:45pm - 6:15pm ( ** with potential shift to June & July ~3:00 - 9:00pm ** )
Saturday: 9:30am - 5:00pm ( youth earn-a-bike in morning; 30-min paid lunch break)
Compensation: $20/hr (starting at 27 hours/wk)
