    Job Description

    Objective:


    Under moderate supervision responsible to manage product requirements, specifications and their compliance throughout the product development cycle using validation and verification processes.

    The Systems Engineer will evaluate needs from customer and multiple stakeholders to define system performance and integration requirements.

    Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

    • Manage the requirements on engineering projects, ensuring they are fully documented and traceable.
    • Capture and validate all stakeholders requirements, both internal and external.
    • Review requirements with subject matter experts and assigned engineering team.
    • Work closely with the assigned engineering project team to ensure the validation and verification activities are completed on time to support project milestones and design maturity targets.
    • Develop the product verification strategy and ensure agreement with all stakeholders
    • Provide status reports for requirements capture, compliance status, validation and verification.
    • Create and maintain product specification documents for internal and customer approval.
    • Liaise with engineering project team to maintain baseline product configuration and document requirements changes in the event of scope changes.
    • Identify system interfaces and create applicable interface control documents.
    • Support the engineering change process and engineering proposals in response to change requests received during the execution of engineering projects.

    • Must be able to translate product requirements into product specifications and compliance matrices.
    • Must be able to read and analyze 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
    • Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

    • Must have strong relationship building and management skills.

    Desirable Aspects:

    • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
    • Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
    • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
    • DOORS, CAMEO, SIMULINK, or similar requirements managent and system modeling tools.
    • CATIA V5, Smarteam.

    Job Requirements

    Education & Experience:

    • Must have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Material Science, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or Systems Engineering or 12 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
    • Required 2 years of experience in an engineering related field.
    • Preferred 1 year of experience in Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, Requirements Validation and Verification.
