- Provide diverse production design expertise for various civil engineering projects and technical reports.
- Develop construction plans while under the direction of a Professional Engineer. Ability to analyze design alternatives to develop cost-effective solutions to project challenges.
- Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.
- Researches, reviews, interprets and understands written design standards, regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and applies them to design projects.
- Assists with design calculations, calculates quantities, reviews technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates.
- Aids in enhancing the team's overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate's Degree, Two-year Certificate or Diploma from an accredited technical school or college in CADD/Engineering Technology preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in the field of civil engineering.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS with the desire for continued training in advanced and dynamic drafting expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ambition to train other staff on plan production and drafting.

We are looking for a CAD Tech/Designer with at least 3+ years of professional experience to assist with various public and private-sector civil engineering design projects for clients, including counties, cities, and other agencies & municipalities. Our ideal candidate can develop engineering plans and implement design standards across all disciplines.
AIM's Civil Engineering services vary from public infrastructure, water resource & stormwater management, hydrologic & ecosystem restoration, construction phase services, and general site development. This position is located in our Fort Myers corporate office.
