Duties
- Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu plans
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain quality and hygiene standards
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure appealing presentation for customers or residents
- Participate in menu planning discussions and contribute ideas for new dishes or dietary accommodations
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas to promote a safe working environment
- Serve food efficiently and courteously to customers or clients, ensuring excellent service experience
- Manage food handling procedures during catering events or large-scale meal preparations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or the food industry is highly desirable
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and knife handling with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations preferred
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations within restaurant or healthcare settings
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving others
