    We are looking for an experienced, collaborative professional with an accounting background who can apply their skills, creativity, and passion to wildlife conservation.

    The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the Finance and Administration team at WCN. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and supervises two Staff Accountants.

    Key Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing the Accounting functions of WCN including but not limited to:
    Preparation of consolidated financial statementsManagement of the monthly close processReconciliation of all bank and investment accounts monthlyReconciliation of all other balance sheet accounts quarterlyRevenue reconciliation between Salesforce and Sage IntacctIncludes reconciliation of funds collected via online platforms: BofA Merchant Services, Paypal, Benevity, NFG, and othersFund level financial statements including:Monthly reconciliation of our five Wildlife Funds financial statements between Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and Grant databases / spreadsheetsQuarterly reconciliation of funds received on behalf of our 25 Partner organizationsQuarterly reconciliation of funds received on behalf of other organizations that WCN fiscally sponsorsResponsible for regulatory reporting including:Quarterly Sales tax returnsAnnual Charity returns for 37 States (prepared by Staff Accountants)


    Business licenses and other tax filingsReviewing and approving semi-monthly payrollReviewing weekly accounts payableServes as the primary point of contact for the Annual Audit and 990Assists CFO with the preparation of the annual budgetResponsible for revenue and expense recognition and complying with current accounting rules and regulations for nonprofit organizationsMonitoring financial results and budgets and researching variancesSupports our Partner organizations with their accounting needs (primarily Quickbooks Online)Relevant Experience and Skills US Citizen or Green card holderFluency in EnglishBachelors degree in accounting or a related field and 5-10 years of experience (preferably in nonprofit accounting)Highly organized, with a strong attention to detailExperience mentoring and training staffExperience using cloud-based collaborative software including Google Drive, e-mail, etc.

    Experience using Google Sheets and Excel with advanced functions (pivot tables, v-lookup, charts, etc.)Experience with cloud based accounting software (prefer experience with Sage Intacct and Quickbooks Online)Familiarity with Salesforce would be a plusExperience with international payments and wire transfers would be a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate in and enjoy a collaborative, team-oriented cultureStrong natural alignment with WCNs Core ValuesWCNs Non-Discrimination Policy:
