- JTEKT's Senior Steering System Engineers lead special projects and handle new business inquiries for our steering systems
- Participate in technical activities associated with system/part design and development; aid in systematic problem solving; communicate and/or collaborate with cross functional team members or other JTEKT partners, suppliers, and/or customers as necessary. Late night or early morning communication will be required with global colleagues
- Create, review, and release project specifications, schedules, and related materials to ensure the creation of designs which exceed customer expectations (Drawings, BOMs, DVP&Rs, DRBFMs)
- Analyze product data, specifications, evaluations, and validation results as required to provide guidance for success
- The work environment is currently Hybrid, but office/lab attendance depends on needs of the project. Responsibilities performed in a technical facility with labs, testing equipment, and areas of a traditional office environment
- Travel to both domestic and international locations, will be minimal, <5%
- This position requires a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 6+ years of professional experience in related field, automotive preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, and presentation skills. Will require significant interaction with Japanese and European partners
- High degree of initiative, with ability to make decisions. Ability to work independently or collaborate on a team
- Good planning and organizational skills required to handle multiple project assignments concurrently
- Team oriented, patient, positive attitude, and trainable/strong desire to learn
