    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled Lead Physician Advisor to provide physician leadership and expertise in utilization management, length of stay, and clinical documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical acumen, knowledge of Care Management principles, and excellent communication and presentation skills.

    About the Role:

    The Lead Physician Advisor will provide oversight for other Physician Advisors, engage physicians in care coordination, and review policies related to care coordination and patient access. They will also collaborate with departments, leaders, and committees to meet established goals for physician participation and compliance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide physician leadership for physician advisors and physicians throughout the organization

    • Manage processes, policies, workflows, and overall management of the physician advisor role within the organization

    • Serve as a consultant and resource to other Physician Advisors and primary (attending) physicians

    • Support care teams to ensure appropriate patient placement, care, and discharge

    • Conduct verbal and written Peer to Peer reviews to assist with appeals of denied or downgraded coverage determinations

    Requirements:

    • Graduate of an accredited medical school

    • Completion of specialty residency (e.g., Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine)

    • Board Certified/Eligible Physician licensed in the applicable states

    • Five years recent experience in clinical practice in a hospital strongly preferred

    • Previous experience as a physician advisor preferred
