    **Description**

    Mesa Associates, Inc. seeks an enthusiastic and experienced manager to lead the Mechanical engineering department for the Power Generation Business unit in Knoxville and report to the Associate Vice President. Candidate will provide key leadership to the Knoxville engineering office with overall responsibility for Mechanical Engineering personnel, oversight of projects, and general business activities.

    **Education/Experience:**

    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

    Minimum of 12 years of working experience in engineering

    **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:**

    Determine project and overall staffing needs and project present and future manpower loading.

    Attract and retain talented engineers and designers.

    Identify development needs and train engineers, designers, and drafters within the department to strengthen departmental skill sets.

    Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with Senior Management, other Department Managers, and Project Managers.

    Assist Project Managers in the development of cost estimates and technical proposals

    Drive assigned projects to completion within schedule and budgets.

    Understand and apply engineering design principles to analyze and solve complex technical issues.

    Facilities design, especially fossil or hydro power generating facilities.

    Demonstrate ability to plan and execute tasks according to schedules.

    Proven excellent verbal/written skill and good interpersonal skills in dealing with staff and management

    Proven ability to establish, promote, and assure quality deliverables performed by the civil/structural group

    Ability to demonstrate ability to plan and execute tasks according to schedules.
