    Position Summary

    This position will assist the Packaging Engineering team with both day to day operations support as well as project support. As a Packaging Engineering Technician I, they will be responsible for assisting with Lab testing and projects that impact design, development, cost reduction activities, process support, sustaining engineering activities, and others. Support of lab testing will involve GLP, Test Method and Test Method validation activities along with writing lab test reports.

    Principal Responsibilities


    • Conduct Packaging lab testing activities such as:

    o Material testing

    o Distribution simulation

    o Climatic conditioning


    • Assist Packaging Engineers with tasks such as:

    o Equipment qualifications

    o Production support

    o Packaging verification, aging studies, etc.


    • Provide training to staff on test methods and reporting


    • Executing sample preparation, good documentation practices, equipment maintenance and good lab practices


    • Complete tasks as required for timely disposition of project requirements and prioritization


    • Ability to draft and write testing reports for approvals.


    • Complete assigned tasks necessary for the completion of improvement projects that may include coordinating equipment design and fabrication, performing installation qualification activities, range finding, and debugging


    • Coordinating shipping and receiving of test samples


    • Assist in facilitating and implementing lab and testing improvements

    Education / Experience Requirements

    High School diploma or equivalent

    2-year degree preferred

    3-4 years of related experience

    Medical device experience preferred

    Experience with Packaging equipment preferred

    Specialized Skills / Other Requirements


    • Basic problem solving skills


    • Takes work direction and completes task in an accurate and timely manner


    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills


    • Attention to minute detail and quality


    • Ability to multi-task


    • Technical writing capability


    • Mechanical Aptitude


    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)


    • Experience working with Change Management software such as Agile


    • Experience with general lab test equipment is preferred


    • Experience with sealing and seal testing equipment is preferred
