    About the Position:

    Reporting to the SVP, External Affairs and CHRO, the VP, HR works closely with all members of senior management and is responsible for executing and advancing the hospital's strategic people initiatives. This includes workforce planning and talent acquisition, employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement and retention, and performance management. The VP, HR will have an opportunity to collaborate with outstanding leaders across St. Clair Health to advance best practices and strategies in support of enterprise-wide performance.

    The successful candidate will be a collaborative, highly driven subject matter expert, capable of delivering results that support the organization's commitment to recruit, develop, engage, and retain employees. We are seeking highly experienced candidates skilled with the use of data analytics that leverage metrics to inform, influence, and educate a wide range of constituents. This position will rely on your excellent communication skills, comfort with the delivery of Board level presentations, strong record of high achievement, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities:
    • Along with the CHRO and system executives, positively impacts talent management, culture, and engagement
    • Aligns HR philosophies, policies, and programs with the mission and goals of St. Clair Health
    • Serves as a key resource and strategic business partner to the SVP/CHRO and executive management for all people strategies
    • Builds trust-based relationships that enable the delivery of highly effective HR initiatives
    • Designs and implements initiatives that deliver exceptional talent acquisition programs and promote employee engagement
    • Responsible for the hospital's Employee Relations strategy
    • Creates and executes on HR data analytics which allows for insights into people strategies including talent acquisition, retention, and engagement
    • Leads planned initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness and capability
    • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to direct report members of the HR Team
    • Partners with the communications team to ensure that all staff members' related communications are consistent across the enterprise; ensures clear and timely communication to all staff members
    • Through collaboration with organizational learning and development, ensures there are comprehensive programs available for developing leaders and creation of career pathways for key levels of the organization
    • Ensures a comprehensive approach to measurement of employee engagement and well-being and the development of an impactful action plan based on the results
    • Leads the System's Organizational Development efforts by collaborating with enterprise leaders to create an environment of employee engagement and productivity by strengthening the human processes through which work is completed
    • Oversees the processes for investigation of workplace complaints and other significant issues
    • Oversees the maintenance of effective administrative policies

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Human Resources or a closely related field
    • At least 10 years of progressive experience in the management of HR accountabilities
    • Strong strategic, analytical, communication, negotiation, and general business skills
    • Specific functional experience in:
    • Workforce planning and strategic recruitment
    • Employee engagement and retention
    • Learning and professional development
    • Performance management
    • Employee relations and the administration of federal and state employment laws and regulations
    • Departmental budgeting
    • Strong knowledge of contemporary HR software applications
    • Skilled in the use of all Microsoft Office tools
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to use and understand data analytics to support the operations of the department and the enterprise
    • Unyielding respect for confidential information
    • Deep commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all persons
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills when dialoguing with executives, physicians, administrators, clinicians, and other key constituents
    • Strong work ethic with the ability to work both strategically and hands-on
    • Experience with a Performance Improvement (PI) framework such as Lean or Six Sigma
    • Highly proficient at project management
    Bonus Qualifications:
    • SPHR and/or SHRM certification
    • Experience in a similar role with a health care provider
