    About Us: Either/Or, a sister project to Lua Brewing, is a new restaurant that focuses on delivering top-notch quality with a twist. We are eager to challenge the norms when it comes to food and drinks, engaging with the community, and creating a unique atmosphere in Des Moines. Our main goal is to go above and beyond in providing exceptional experiences through top-notch quality and service while ensuring a fun and secure working environment.


    General Expectations: At Either/Or, we are dedicated to forming a team of service experts who thrive in a lively, fast-paced environment where customers always come first. Our servers and bartenders must align with our core values, showing reliability, responsibility, positivity, and a strong work ethic. We are committed to fostering a collaborative work setting with growth opportunities within our organization and actively participating in enhancing the hospitality standards in Des Moines.

    Duties & Expectations:
    • Ensure the restaurant is set up, operated, and kept clean.
    • Maintain a positive attitude when working with colleagues, management, and kitchen staff.
    • Be punctual for all shifts and communicate effectively regarding any changes.
    • Take orders, serve customers, and address any inquiries efficiently.
    • Be knowledgeable about the menu, including preparation, ingredients, portions, and dietary restrictions.
    • Proficiency in using the Toast POS system.
    • Handle transactions, payments, and change for both in-house and to-go orders.
    • Adhere to sanitation and safety protocols provided by Either/Or.
    • Follow guidelines for responsible alcohol service.
    • Display strong teamwork, attentive listening skills, and respect for all patrons.
    • Adhere to uniform standards established by Either/Or.
    Requirements:
    • Demonstrate efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in handling financial transactions.
    • Be able to stand for extended periods.
    • Effective communication skills in English.
    • Prior experience in serving/bartending is advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
    • Weekend availability is highly desirable.
