Scope:
General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in the design, development, production, support and sustainment of tracked and wheeled military equipment, specifically the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.
The Skilled Trades Supervisor will be responsible to the planning and directing day to day operations to support manufacturing and delivering on metrics for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and maintain accurate time charging.
Monitor and maintain Labor & Material budgets
Understand and follow Collective Bargaining Unit guidelines
Organize jobs for shift start and ensure employees adhere to safety regulations
Assign tasks to appropriate trades group personnel to accomplish tasks
Supervise, Electricians, Millwrights, Pipefitters, & Mechanics
Ensure problems are properly documented, jobs are reviewed and area is clean before operating equipment
Maintain a clean and safe work area forresponsible areas
Prepare daily reports and track progress including implementation of new technologies
Communicate with Production on breakdowns/status/equipment availability
Work with production TAs and Industrial / Facility Engineers to meet Performance Matrix, Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost, & Continuous Improvement
Monitors and adheres to all Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety requirements and standard
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be a US Citizen
Associates Degree in Technical Curriculum or equivalentexperience level required.
Bachelor Degree in Technical Curriculum (preferred).
Facilities Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, & Mechanical experience (preferred)
Minimum of 10 Years related experience(preferred)
Previous Management Experience (preferred)
5 Years experience in a Supervisory role in Metal Component Part Manufacturing (preferred)
Demonstrate project management and organizational skills
Able to perform problem solving and root cause analysis
Proficient with computers and software including MS Office Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
This job is performed in an office and heavy manufacturing environment.
