- The equipment technician performs entry-level skilled work in the maintenance and repair of light vehicles and heavy construction equipment.
- Completion of a formal post-secondary technical training program in automobile or heavy equipment-related repair (of at least 30 credit hours or one school year in duration) and one year of experience in automotive or heavy equipment repair.
- Must pass the driving portion of the Class B CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions, and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]) within 60 days of hire into the position.
