    Description

    Butternut Bakehouse is a small batch bakery which has an amazing team of bakers, baristas, and counter staff, working together to create some of the best baked goods in the Boston area. We are always on the lookout for energetic and friendly food lovers to join our team

    We are currently looking to hire a Cafe Manager. This is a great intermediate position for someone who is passionate about food and drinks and looking to expand their managerial skills in the food industry within a small setting with a close-knit dynamic team.

    Position Type: Full time, Salaried

    Pay: $40,000 $45,000 (depending on experience)

    Days Needed: 5 Days a week (including weekends) about hours/weekly

    We are seeking a cafe or front of house manager who will help build and lead our growing team of counter staff and baristas. The individual should love pastries and espresso drinks, enjoy engaging with our community, and be a natural leader.

    The cafe manager will work closely with the owner to ensure high standards of our products, smooth communication between the kitchen and front of house staff, and an enjoyable and memorable experience for our customers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

    -Supervise opening and closing retail counter

    -Financial/cash handling and closing of register

    -Assure quality control in food and beverage

    -Take orders for catering, special events and coordinate with kitchen production

    -Train counter staff on efficient service and high quality, consistent drink preparation

    -Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations for FOH

    -Manage ordering and inventory for coffee, tea, paper goods, and packaging

    -Maintain a healthy, positive, and productive work environment amongst staff

    -Demonstrate leadership by maintaining cleanliness and organization of FOH area

    -80:20 ratio of line and administrative duties

    REQUIREMENTS:

    -Serious interest in learning to build and grow a small business

    -Strong guest service skills

    -Detail oriented

    -Good computer skills

    -Possess problem solving capabilities

    -Self-motivated individual with strong sense of responsibility and team player

    -Passion for food, baked goods and a positive attitude

    -Available to work weekends and some holidays

    -Able to work as a team, dependable, able to do varied tasks including helping kitchen staff with some production, if needed

    -Strong work ethic

    -High standards of cleanliness and quality of work

    SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS:

    Managers are regularly scheduled for a 5-day, 40-45 hr work week. They will occasionally be asked to work additional days to cover staffing shortages
