    Want to protect the ocean, wetlands, and other aquatic resources in sunny San Diego? Join the San Diego Water Board's Wetland and Riparian Protection Unit (WRPU). The San Diego Water Board's has an opening for a Scientific Aid in the Wetland and Riparian Protection Unit (WRPU). The position is located at 2375 Northside Drive, Suite 100, San Diego.

    Under the direct supervision of the supervisor of the WRPU, the Scientific Aid will assist in supporting the unit staff with receiving, tracking, inventorying, and reviewing dredge and/or fill application, self-monitoring reports, and other technical report submittals for the dredge and fill program. Job duties will include assisting in the assessment of compliance with permit requirements, enforcement orders, and federal and state water quality laws policies and regulations.     Please note: this position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $ $20.43 per hour.

    Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
