- Candidates must be Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology. Fellowship training in Dermatopathology is a must. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Join a cohesive team of 8 Pathologists and 3 Pathologist Assistants who provide support for the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology laboratory services across 3 hospitals (Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center, and Carle Richland Memorial Hospital) and multiple clinic sites.
- Experience a diverse range and a high volume of dermatopathology cases (6000/year), including inflammatory derm, epithelial malignancies, melanoma, autoimmune/DIF cases.
- Workload and cases are distributed evenly among pathologists, with an annual Pathology volume of approximately 30,000 surgical cases, 10,000 gynecologic, and 4,000 non-gynecologic cytology cases. The laboratory boasts an extensive immunohistochemistry staining menu with 21,000 stains performed annually.
- The Pathology group conducts over 500 frozen sections per year and utilizes cutting-edge remote viewing technology for remote cell assessments from their office, as well as digitized peripheral smear reviews.
- The group actively participates in 9 multispecialty care conferences and various specialty institutes within the Carle Health system, such as the Carle Digestive Health Institute and the Carle Cancer Institute.
- This role offers opportunities for academic and/or research collaborations with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the pioneering medical school that focuses on the convergence of healthcare and engineering.
- Engage in the mentorship of residents and fellows through the numerous established training programs offered at Carle Foundation Hospital.
