    * This position is on-site at Unitus Business Center, Tigard. Hybrid schedules are available after training completion.

    Primary duties:

    • Complete moderate/advanced functions pertaining to delinquency/default of a variety of loans to ensure payments, recovery, problem resolution, and protection of the Credit Union's interests.
    • Monitor accounts and perform follow up as needed to ensure payments are received, including pay-by-phone for members.
    • Make appropriate referrals for repossession, charge-off, and referral to outside agencies.
    • Provide backup Sr. Specialist team with support for bankruptcy, repossession, hardship modifications, and/or charge-off and recovery assignments.
    • Handle negative share situations in fraud and deceased cases.
    • Maintain spreadsheets for repossessions and write-offs.
    • Balance GLs for write-off, negative share write-off, and pay-by-phone processing.
    • Meet department goals for delinquency, write-off, and recovery, while handling a high workload and call volume.

    As an ideal candidate, you will have:

    • High school education or equivalent certificate
    • A minimum of 6 years related experience in a financial institution, including current knowledge of debt collection practices in consumer and real estate loans.
    • Experience in bankruptcy, repossession, judgements, small claims, hardship modifications, charge-off and recovery.
    • Financial statement understanding and analysis experience would be preferred.
    • Formal certification or education related to the collections field is a plus.
    • Bilingual language skills would be useful but not required.
