    Job Description



    ohnson County Wastewater is looking for qualified individuals to work as an Environmental Technologist I in the Water Quality Laboratory. This person will join a team of dedicated professionals performing environmental analysis and water quality monitoring. The laboratory monitors the performance and regulatory compliance of several wastewater treatment plants, industrial pretreatment, and stormwater programs in a NELAP accredited facility.

    Perform routine and non-routine laboratory analysis including BOD, COD, TSS, alkalinity, nutrients and microbiology.
  • Ensure testing is done within approved parameters, perform calibrations, preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and trouble shooting.
  • Document all results, prepare statistics and quality control data in accordance with NELAC.
  • Provide information and technical support to laboratory clients.
  • Track inventory, order supplies, perform equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Provide information and technical support to laboratory clients.
  • Perform occasional field work and sample collection, including periodic on-call for storm water response.




  • Job Requirements



    A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science and one year of related experience are required. A valid driver's license and good driving record are also required.
