    DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

    This position is located at Duke Integrative Medicine at the Center for Living Campus. Duke Integrative Medicine offers a comprehensive suite of services, including a primary care practice, specialized consultations, therapeutic services, and mindfulness-based classes.     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Engage in personalized intake sessions with patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being by recording vital signs, visit details, and any relevant clinical information.

    Provide attentive telephone assistance to patients, meticulously documenting each interaction and adhering to clinic protocols, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare providers.

    Deliver medications to patients with precision and care, following established protocols and the six essential rights of medication administration.

    Offer invaluable support to healthcare providers during various procedures, ranging from wound dressings to pap smears, fostering a collaborative environment focused on patient well-being.

    Actively contribute to enhancing clinic performance through participation in improvement projects, driving continuous quality enhancement.

    Execute a diverse range of clinical tasks with efficiency and professionalism, including setting up for procedures, conducting EKGs, administering injections, and performing lab draws, always within the scope of practice.

    Facilitate patient access to medications and durable medical equipment by obtaining prior authorizations as needed, ensuring seamless care delivery.

    JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:


    • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. Please specify on resume which certification you have and the expiration date.


    • BLS required.


    • Level I -- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.


    • Level II -- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.


    • Level I -- No experience required.


    • Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.

    JOB HOURS:

    The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
