Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience:

6+ years of experience with MS SQL products, including MS SQL 2008.
Experience as MS SQL database administrator, including data design/modeling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
6+ years of experience with SQL programming, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, DTS packages, scheduled jobs, and linked servers.
6+ years of experience with SQL relational databases, OLTP and DSS, serving in high-performance, service-oriented, multi-tiered environments.
6+ years of experience in change management best practices, serving in a code promotion role in partnership with the development team.
6+ years of experience in Web application server system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
Desired experience with Project Management standards, best practices, terms, and tools.

Soft Skills:

Ability to work well in a team environment with education and technology solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and user staff.

Demonstrated Experience:

Implementation projects with high-profile, multiple technologies and functions.
Experience working in state government.

Deliverable Tasks:

Assist in developing specifications and overall planning and management of projects.
Provide status reports to leadership weekly and monthly written reports including accomplishments, areas of concerns, and recommended solutions.
Communicate project progress and information to the team, sponsor, stakeholders, and legislative body as appropriate.
Ensure technical direction and standards are followed.
Develop project plans and measure actual progress against them.
Assure project documentation includes plans, budgets, risk plans, communication plans, change control logs, and reports.
Demonstrate an understanding of tactical goals and participate effectively in developing and implementing business solutions.
Manage project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.
Manage change control within projects.
Obtain sponsor approval for changes affecting the critical path.
Provide written documentation showing testing and verification of modifications to ensure objectives are met.
