RN-Surgery/OR PRN Lander - SageWest Health Care – Lander

Description

The Circulating RN will function as the primary patient advocate and ensure the surgical arena is safe and sterile. Ensures the sterile field is not compromised during the procedure. Conducts the surgical safety checklist (i.e. valid history and physical, valid consents), time out requirements, and hand off communication. The registered nurse will assist in care and maintenance of department supplies, equipment, and facilities.

The Scrub RN is responsible for selection and handling of instrumentation and supplies during the surgical procedure. The registered scrub nurse will maintain a sterile field and accountability of the sterile environment at all times. The scrub RN is responsible to ensure accurate counts, order and knowledge of the sterile environment. The registered nurse cannot place or move retractors and/or suture without additional training and competency.

The registered nurse will maintain competency in surgical nursing care.

QualificationsRequired Licenses:
Must have current and valid Wyoming RN License or compact equivalent

Certification:
Current BLS ACLS certification within 90 days of hire or transfer to department. PALS certification within 90 days of hire or transfer to department

Minimum Work Experience:
2+ years Surgical Services experience preferred.
