    Description
    Duties


    • Detect and prevent theft, damage accident, trespass sabotage and espionage by enforcing the security regulations of the installation.
    • Record visitor information and purpose of visit to issue passes as necessary.
    • Maintain constant observation of personnel to assure they do not gain access into areas where they are not authorized.
    • Employ the appropriate response to neutralize the threat or aggressive behavior of potential suspects

    The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.

    • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility at the Secret level using a Tier 3 background investigation.

    • Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual Physical Agility Test (PAT) as outlined in AR
    • Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
    • Incumbent must wear the prescribed uniform; must maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
    • The incumbent will be subject to drug testing requirements.
    • Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary.
    • Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
    • Incumbent must successfully complete and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and First Aid
    May act as a first responder in a medical emergency.


    • Incumbent must wear personal protective equipment such as wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
    • Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
    • Employee must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968
    Must be able to pass a Criminal History Background Check

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
    One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring personnel access into restricted area using both manual and electronic methods; provide protective service work in guarding and protecting property; and perform motorized as well as foot patrols in order to detect problem situations
