**Experienced Cook**
**Objective**
Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties including: preparing, portioning, cooking and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. Organizes and cleans kitchen areas. **Essential Functions**
Easily read and understand both simple and complex recipes, including abbreviations of measurements, and measuring types for dry and wet ingredients
Prepare and cook food according to specified recipes while operating in a high energy kitchen atmosphere
Understand ingredient list as it pertains to specialty diets
Knowledge in operating industrial sized kitchen equipment
Ensure food creations meet the Kitchen Managers specifications
Properly label and maintain ingredients
Clean and maintain work areas, utensils and equipment, on an ongoing basis
Adhere to health code specifications and sanitation of all kitchen equipment and serving procedures
Adhere to specific kitchen dress code and abide by kitchen rules
Perform miscellaneous job-related/Other duties as assigned

**Physical Demands**
The employee must have the ability to: sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods where wet processes are used, wear protective footwear, and work in extreme temperatures. The employee must have the ability to frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

**Expected Hours of Work**
This is a full-time position; nights and weekends may be required.

**Education and Experience**
High school diploma, or equivalent training and experience - **required**
Minimum of one-year cooking experience in a professional kitchen - **required**
