Summary/Objective:

The overall main responsibility of the Project Coordinator is to ensure that a particular project is progressing as it should be.

The primary function of a project coordinator is to make sure projects run smoothly. An ideal set of duties for the PM role within the ITOps/oCIO org would consist of assisting and overseeing Project Teams as assigned and assisting the other Project Managers in defining and executing processes related to all phases of project execution and Agile methodology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Leading through example, always exhibit the core values and leadership qualities.
   1. The Senior Project Manager is directly aligned with their Technical Director and coordinates all resources assigned to that Program. To include the following:
   2. What Projects are created
   3. What Project Coordinators and Project Managers are assigned to Projects
   4. Demand Creation
2. Provide leadership and be a resource to Project Coordinators and Project Managers
   1. Assist Coordinators, Project Managers, and their Technical Leads as needed with defining and managing team goals and project schedules.
   2. Assist Coordinators and Project Managers in evaluating potential problems, blockers, and new/changing information as they are brought forward and develop solutions.
   3. Oversee development of Coordinators and Project Managers
3. Foster cross functional team collaboration.
   1. Lead recurring standups for PMO team within oCIO across all Programs
4. Monitor the scheduling and execution of Agile related meetings, processes standups, sprint planning, and SCRUM.
   1. Continuously refine these processes to better support Agile Teams.
5. Review in flight projects and help in keeping projects on schedule.
6. Communicate project updates to senior leadership and or Stakeholders
7. Own, with the Project Coordinators and Project Managers, project reports and documentation
   1. Work with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Program Director to provide identified Project reports desired by Management to include:
      1. Status Report as required.
      2. Risk Register
      3. Financial reporting
      4. Resource Management
      5. Review weekly reports to ensure that all Project elements are being entered into the Project and updated.
8. Enhance department by accepting ownership over new and different cross functional demands and exploring opportunities to add value.

Qualifications:

1. High school degree or GED Required
2. 10+ years of leadership experience.
3. 10+ years as a Project Manager
4. Communication proficiency, coaching, organizational skills, initiative, team player, decision making, time management, and thoroughness.
5. Adopts Project Management Best Practices. The Senior Project Manager, is responsible for defining, teaching, and enforcing the use of project management practices.
6. Manages project priorities and performs risk management. The Senior Project Manager understands all projects being worked towards closure. The Senior Project Manager is dedicated to addressing the Project's top priorities.
7. Communicates Project status to Stakeholders and promotes involvement. Drives Decision-Making to lowest level possible. The Senior Project Manager drives ownership of decisions and appropriate level of accountability. The Senior Project Manager recognizes that project success is directly related to satisfying the Project Demand. Encourages and supports escalations as appropriate. The Senior Project Manager establishes a project culture where escalations are utilized to resolve various problems. Enforces effective change control. The Senior Project Manager ensures that scope creep, communications, and quality are carefully monitored and controlled.
8. Leads team members within their Program, Project and within the OCIO. The Senior Project Manager is a servant leader and demonstrates best practices of project management.
9. Promotes good working relationships. The Senior Project Manager serves as a role model in promoting good working relationships across projects and within the organization
10. Makes things happen. Must be able to articulate problems, bring the right people together and facilitate the solution on those problems. Know when a problem has been properly addressed and closed. All this with the proper sense of urgency that the problem requires.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is occasionally required.

Travel:

Travel will be moderate up to 25%. May require ON Site visits in support of Projects and in person Program Meeting as scheduled.
