    Quorum Hotels is looking for a Corporate Senior Accountant to join the team

    The Corporate Senior Accountant assists in the direction and coordination of accounting, financial and internal control activities of the centralized accounting function. Remains abreast of current trends and legislation and helps direct and develop hotel and corporate accounting policies, ensures adherence to all accounting policies and procedures. This individual will assist with assigned hotel property accounting and corporate accounting. This position will perform other duties as assigned.

    Salary $75,000 - $80,000

    Essential Functions

    Accounting Process:
    • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed regarding revenue accounting and cash disbursements.
    • Maintain general ledger.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations for assigned properties and corporate office.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
    • Review accuracy of daily property income journal in regards income, statistics, ledgers, and receipts.
    • Perform or supervise timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a periodic basis.
    • Assist in preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies.
    • Proper record retention followed.
    • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
    • Adhere to GAAP and USALI accounting standards.
    • Review aging and collection problems with General Managers and make recommendations on accounts to be written off to bad debt.
    Tax Compliance
    • Ensure tax compliance is maintained to include filing and remittance of state local sales/use, beverage, and occupancy tax returns in a timely manner on a monthly and quarterly basis.
      Reconcile daily income audit amounts of sales, beverage, and occupancy tax due and collected.
      Review Accounts payable invoices for proper amounts of use tax due.
      Reconcile daily occupancy tax exemption documentation for completeness and accuracy.
      Maintain continuing education in regard to state and local compliance requirements for sales/use, beverage and occupancy tax.
    Requirements

    Education & Experience:
    • Two plus years progressive experience in hospitality accounting leadership. A 4-year college degree is preferred.
    • Must be proficient in Windows Operating Systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
    • Knowledge of M3 back-office system preferred.
