    Description
    Insight Global is assisting with identifying a Controls Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Aurora, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, testing, and supporting production and product control systems. You will optimize and develop methods for processing and testing, making fundamental contributions to both product and process development.
    • Develop control software using languages such as C++ and C# for the company's IO board and other control systems.
    • Develops, installs, configures, and evaluates operational systems, application software, and system management tools.
    • Manage and monitor installed control systems and infrastructure to ensure compliance with company operating procedures.
    Escalate any issues encountered by maintenance technicians for resolution.
    • Update and modernize existing control technologies, including transitioning from RS Logix 500 to newer systems.
    • Collaborate with external software companies that provide the software side of the systems for our medical devices.
    • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
    • Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and requirements for the equipment being manufactured.
    • Collaborates with manufacturing engineering and design engineering to set and fulfill requisites set forth by user requirements.
    • Handles work process, optimization, and risk management FMEAs in projects for successful requirement fulfillment for interested stakeholders.
    • Coordinates and leads Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for manufacturing control systems such as Allen Bradley and LabView
    • Maintain and optimize the control systems for various stations, including vacuum furnaces, laser welders, ovens, and exhaust houses, using Allen Bradley and other PLCs.
    • Support housing tests and calibration, stepping in when necessary to troubleshoot and measure tube functionality.
    • Collaborate with clean room teams to ensure proper controls and environmental conditions.
    • Assist the facilities team, consisting of three engineers, in managing maintenance technicians and providing technical guidance.
    • Handle project related paperwork, including documentation for projects, component tracking, serial numbers, and server optimization.
    • Utilize SQL databases, ASP files, VB script, and HTML for specific projects
    • Contribute to the development and release of new equipment, including programming high voltage generators and IO boards.
    • Collaborate on HMI design for user interface development.
