    Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer in the Boise, ID or Spokane, WA area.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $ $ a year.

    What you'll do:


    The purpose of this position is to provide protection and control design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects.


    This position is to lead the protection and control engineering function to create detailed protection design basis documentation, detailed protection applications and design packages along with acting as the subject matter expert for the broader Project Engineering group.

    Protection & Controls is part of the project Engineering team in the Turnkey Projects Group. This team has a national reach, providing support for key customers, project engineers and our project management staff. The Project Operations team's focus is developing and managing turnkey projects for government, commercial, industrial, and utility customers.

    The Senior Project Engineer -


    P&C is responsible for leading design deliverables as a protection and control subject matter expert to maintain project schedule, design budget, design accuracy, and submittal completeness working in concert with a broader designer team.

    The Lead P&C Engineer is charged with value added engineering to provide a quality product while driving efficiencies.

    The applicant will work with other business leaders and stakeholders to insure the highest levels of engineering capability, quality and delivery of both engineering only and design build contacts.



    Qualifications:

    Position criteria for this role include:


    • Ability to lead low/medium voltage protection designs generation clients
    • Ability to maintain schedule and budget
    • Ability to work with and mentor other engineers on team
    • Act as subject matter expect for P&C related items on the Project Engineering team. Typical protection schemes could include generator multi-function, bus differential, transformer, feeder protection, etc.
    • Understanding of power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash.
    • Develop engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents
    • Knowledge, understanding, and execution of turnkey projects
    • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE
    • Submit to periodic drug and background screens for compliance with customer entrance requirements in order to perform on-site work
    Basic

    Qualifications:

    BS in electrical engineering from an accredited institution

    Minimum of five (5) years of design experience

    Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

    Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the work location(s) listed on the posting.

    No relocation is being offered for this role.

    Preferred

    Qualifications:

    Ten (10) years of design experience

    PE License

    Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

    Experience with IEC61850 based design

    Experience with PLC Systems
