    A Damar Services Internship is a real job providing hands on experience as well as valuable leadership, mentorship, and coaching to the people we serve.

    You will gain valuable exposure to our unique client population, diverse team of highly qualified industry professionals as well as expand your peer network by working closely with other exceptional intern and practicum students with similar ambitions

    Conducts timely and throughout autism evaluations for assigned clients.

    Completes approximately 2-3 appointments per day.

    Completes diagnostic interviews and uses screening tools to evaluate the need for further testing.


    Makes a clinical determination on the most appropriate assessments, measures, and tests to rule in or out a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or seeks assistance from supervisor.

    Offers caregivers consultation time following a diagnosis decision.

    Provides recommendations to caregivers both when a diagnosis is given and when a diagnosis is not.

    Utilizes a trauma assumed approach when addressing client problem behavior.

    Seeks client assent during the evaluation process.

    Ensures that documentation is consistent with billed services, is accurate, and legible.

    Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner.

    Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families, and the community.

    Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

    What you need to start...

    Must be enrolled in a Master's degree program for Psychology.

    Experince with children with autism for at least 6 months.

    The ability to conduct ADOS-2; various models.


    Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).

    Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.

    Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.

    No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Physical:

    Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

    See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

    Hearing:

    Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
