    Job Overview:

    We are looking for a talented Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team supporting a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Program Management Office (PMO) in the National Capital Region. Join our group of proactive individuals dedicated to providing effective solutions to help ensure the safety of U.S. borders and streamline travel and trade processes. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to implementing cutting-edge technology solutions to enhance our nation's security.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with security stakeholders to define system security requirements
    • Ensure cybersecurity requirements are implemented and monitored throughout the system life cycle
    • Provide expert cybersecurity advice to government stakeholders
    • Participate in cybersecurity working group meetings
    • Support information assurance and continuity of operations tasks
    • Review system security designs, including for IoT and OT devices
    • Conduct Assessment and Authorization (A&A) cybersecurity reviews
    • Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
    • Provide cybersecurity engineering support to produce authority to operate (ATO) packages
    • Support authority to test (IATT) and other ATO-related activities
    • Identify security control noncompliance and recommend mitigations
    • Develop and track Program of Action and Milestone (POAM) documents
    • Advise on vulnerability remediation methods
    • Work with teams to deliver secure systems

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • MS/MA degree with 10+ years of related experience OR BS/BA degree with 18+ years of experience
    • Minimum 5 years of system or security engineering for U.S. Government customers
    • Expertise in RMF Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation
    • Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework
    • DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification
    • Active Secret Security Clearance
    • Ability to pass a comprehensive government background investigation

    Desired:

    • Knowledge of Cloud security planning and operations
    • Experience in networking and network security
    • Proficiency in system resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
    • Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity issues clearly
    • Experience presenting to senior leadership
    • Familiarity with agile and CI/CD frameworks
    • Cloud cybersecurity implementation experience
    • DoD 8570 IASAE Level III certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
