Distributed Systems Engineer

Hybrid

Full-Time

Winston Salem, NC

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team dedicated to managing vital infrastructure that supports the economy. Your main tasks will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining Wintel / VMWare server / storage systems to ensure our client's production environment is robust and dependable.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 10 years experience in distributed Windows and RHEL Server environments
Expertise in Enterprise class storage management
Extensive knowledge of VMWare virtualization technologies
Familiarity with Dell backup solutions
Proficiency in managing Windows components (Active Directory, GPO, Microsoft clustering)
Experience in software and hardware administration within high-stakes, 24x7 production settings, ideally in the financial sector
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate at all levels
Capable of working both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Dell EMC Enterprise Compute and Storage platforms such as VMAX, PowerScale, Isilon, Powerflex
In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Familiarity with Cisco MDS and/or fiber channel technologies
AWS cloud exposure in a hybrid setup

Key Responsibilities:

Provide third-level support for server environments
Contribute to Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning validation
Adhere to Change Control standards
Enforce Security and Risk controls
Test and automate upgrades deployment for hardware, O/S, drivers, firmware, patches, etc.
Create procedural and installation instructions for server modifications
Ensure server compliance with security and regulatory standards such as NIST, ISO, CIS, PCI, and FFIEC
