    Job Summary


    The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco are hiring Nurse Practitioners for the Jail Behavioral Health Service (JBHS).

    The Psychiatric NPs will provide clinical assessment and treatment for patients in the JBHS.

    The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

    An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

    Required Qualifications


    • Minimum one (1) years' experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
    • Minimum one (1) years' experience with the chronically mentally ill, preferably with patients with a dual diagnosis (substance abuse/mental illness).
    • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and be detail orientated.
    • Ability to efficiently prepare written summaries of activities, set priorities and complete reports within required time frames.
    • Ability to work with patients and program staff from diverse cultural and social class backgrounds
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
    Preferred Qualifications


    • DNSc - Doctor of Nursing Science.
    • Prior related ZSFG experience or prior UCSF or UC experience.
    • Ability to qualify as UCSF Health trusted interpreter in Spanish.
    • Experience using EPIC/AVATAR.
    • Cantonese/Mandarin speaking ability.
